This study theologically explores the redemptive-historical continuity between the Abrahamic covenant (Gen. 12:2–3) and the Great Commission of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:19–20), with particular attention to Paul’s reference to “the command of the eternal God” in Romans 16:25–26. Paul refers to the gospel as “my gospel,” highlighting it as a redemptive plan that had been hidden for ages but is now revealed to all nations by divine mandate. The researcher argues that the Abrahamic covenant was not merely a promise of blessing for a single ethnic group but a missional command intended for the blessing of all nations. This covenant finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ and is succeeded by his Great Commission. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that the phrase “all nations” (πάντα τὰ ἔθνη) functions as a consistent theological term used across Genesis, the Gospels, and Pauline epistles, thereby indicating that the covenant and the commission are not two separate mandates but rather components of a unified redemptive mission. Consequently, this article aims to theologically ground the question, “Why must the Church live as a missional community?” by illustrating that Paul’s missiology is intrinsically and essentially connected to the Great Commission.
