총 16편의 논문에는 Qumran 공동체, 헬레니즘 시대의 물 사용, 사도행전과 고린도후서에 나타난 정결 개념 등 다양한 주제가 포함되며, 필로의 알레고리 주석과 메시아주의적 정결 사상에 대한 논의도 함께 담겨 있다.
This volume explores different texts and material evidence in relation to purity, impurity, and purification, from both the historic land of Israel and the Diaspora. It adduces comparative evidence from Greece, probes and refines concepts of moral and ritual (im)purity, and traces the relevance of purity debates in nascent Christianity.
